Pilke (indie pop, own music)

Pilke is a singer-songwriter from Jyväskylä who performs with her four-piece band. The music is genre boundary breaking indie pop performed in Finnish language, where the songs’ unique and poetic lyrics play a central role. The band has boldly arranged the songs together into their own way.

The lyrics highlight melancholy and hope, a love of nature, and the sprawling nature of a poetess. The band has worked closely and together they have created a truly unique and wonderful soundscape around these lyrics. At the gigs, the atmosphere varies between sensitivity and strong interpretation. The music carries a strong message about being different, becoming accepted, and finding one’s own path.
