Animation film director Ismo Virtanen has also become known as a music composer.
The children’s song “Jääkarhu soitti kerran Afrikkaan” composed and written by him plays as the music for the puppet animation film of the same name. The animated film has been awarded at the Tampere Film Festival and the main prize at the French Rénnes International Children’s Film Festival.
Virtanen has performed with the performance group Konginkankaan kantri at the Helsingin Juhlaviikot -festival, Provinssirock, Down by the Laituri – and the Jyväskylän kesä -festival.
Ike Virtanen ja Vajaa miehitys is Ismo Virtanen’s solo project, a small-scale concert of absurd couplet songs for an audience of all ages.
