Step back in time 150 years to the Jyväskylä Seminary’s training school. In this family-friendly, self-guided workshop, you will navigate various activity stations spread throughout the Soihtu Exhibition Centre. At the activity stations, you can, for example, build with Froebel blocks, practice your alphabet on a slate board, and discover the contents of Uno Cygnaeus’ suitcase. The workshop is self-guided. Children are welcome with adults.
The workshop is organized by the Jyväskylä University Museum and JYUniorit. The University Museum collects, preserves, studies, and exhibits items related to the past and present of the University of Jyväskylä, cultural history, and the diversity of nature. JYUniorit organizes science clubs, science camps, university tours, school visits, and science events for children and young people aged 3–18.
